ROUND TOP ANTIQUES WEEK FALL 2014 - The Food

I fell in love with shaved ice - Shiver's Shaved Ice that is!
The Pink Cadillac is a lemonade and cranberry snow cone made from real fruit juice. It was just one of the many flavors Shiver's offers and was AMAZING -- especially in the Texas heat!
They were parked across the street from Round Top Square in a retro Airstream and cute seating area. I visited more times than I dare to say.
I'm not sure what I'm most excited about for the Spring show - the shopping or the shaved ice.
Prost Wine Bar is owned by Penny and Mike Ceis. Everything they do is first class! They have an incredible selection of wines by the glass or bottles from around the world. Also check out their delicious cheese, olive, and fruit trays!
The interior of their charming and historic rock building is beautiful. The outdoor patio makes a great spot to sit and listen to live music under hundred year old oak trees. It's a must stop while in Round Top!
Monica Pope and Sarah Eliason of Sparrow Bar + Cookshop in Houston set up a "pop up" restaurant under magnificent oak trees in a field directly across from Marburger Farm. The food was absolutely delicious and the setting was inspirational.
Chef Pope is leading the way in sourcing local foods from many Texas farms. Her combinations of flavors and ingredients wowed all of the dinner guests that we dined with that evening. It was truly a magical night in Round Top!
During the day, Monica and Sara also set up a cooking area for breakfast and lunch items "to-go". They are a wonderful addition to the Round Top food scene and we cannot wait to see what they have in store for the next show!
