WE FOUND OUR TRIBE
Paige Hull
After nine months of dreaming, planning, and hard work, our TRIBE event was held on Tuesday at Zapp Hall. The purpose of this gathering came about as a way for Smoot and I to celebrate having found our TRIBE through the Round Top community. We appreciate Jo Packham of Where Women Create for agreeing to be apart of this event and for all of her generosity. Twelve creative artists and entrepreneurs were chosen to be featured in the 2016 pages of her magazines and to be a part of this event. Thank you to Jo Packham Lorie Cantu, Natalie Dawley, Pandora de Balthazar, Sandra Evertson, Jill Garber, Bex Hale, Tiffany Mitchell, Cheryl Lehane, Monica Pope, Katie Stavinoha, Sarah Thompson, and Travis Weaver for participating!
We collaborated with Kristen Joy Pulpan to design a tent space that would reflect the vision we had for TRIBE. Kristen's talent, hard work, and dedication to the project was off the charts and the results were phenomenal! We could not have pulled it off without the countless hours and hard work from our amazing assistant Erin Montoya and Kristen's husband, Eric. Special thanks to the Zapp team, including Bobby and Pamela and to Matt of Recycling The Past for all of his involvement. It was a joy for Smoot and I to work with everyone to bring our dreams to reality!
It's All In The Details:
We found these dried flowers in a French flea market in Isle sur la Sorgue this past summer and weren't sure what we were going to do with them. They obviously had a special purpose we didn't know about at the time. What a beautiful reminder of what a blessing it was to get to travel with our family to such a beautiful country.
The fiber clumps I found at our sweet friends, Tim and Carol of Carol Hicks Bolton Antiquities in Fredericksburg, Texas. I still shake my head that we had the opportunity to be mentored in the antique business by these two gracious, wise, and creatively gifted souls. I fell in love with the textures and colors of these clumps of styling magic!
The delicious food and beverage sponsored by Zapp Hall was a huge hit! We loved working with Cheryl and her talented crew!
Outdoor events can be tricky! Even though the weather was not in our favor, our TRIBE came out rain or shine!
Thanks to our TRIBE guests for the block of photos above. @dorceys @jinnymichel @jeananoel @maljak. All of other photos taken by Natalie Lacy Lange.
Thank you to one of our oldest and dearest friend's, Kenneth Finch. He owns Finch Creative, a boutique design firm in Houston. He was one of the first to hear our dreams and visions and helped put our first ad together to set the tone for TRIBE. Another thank you goes to Laura Morsman Photography for your amazing photography and artwork in this ad.
This is is our talented Girl Squad! From left to right - Kristen Pulpan of Kristen Joy, Cheryl Lehane of Zapp Hall, (me) and our amazing The Vintage Round Top team - Erin Montoya and Natalie Lacy Lange. Special thanks to Natalie for her beautiful and creative artwork throughout this event and for these photos. You are so talented!
We could go on and on with our thank yous as so many people lent a hand to make the event a success! I'm sorry if I did not call every one by name. But, please know we appreciate everyone that helped make it happen, that came to celebrate in the rain, and that inspired us to want to create and design!
Last, but not least, is my partner in crime and the love of my life! Smoot, I'm so blessed to get to experience this wonderful world with you! Thank you God!
Stay tuned for the next TRIBE get together. Make sure you're on our mailing list so you're the first to know when and where it will be! Can't wait to see you there!
