FALL 2017 BUSINESS + BRANDING + SOCIAL MEDIA WORKSHOP WRAP-UP
Paige Hull
Our third workshop was held during the Fall Antique show and could not have turned out any better! The panelists were spectacular. They shared their hearts and passions with such devotion.
With the addition of the hands-on break-out sessions, the workshop became a full day. Ashleigh Amoroso and Kadie Smith utilized the time to share their wisdom and give everyone actionable steps to improve their businesses.
Our hope is our attendees will take the next step in their own endeavors; armed with newfound photography skills, an understanding the importance good branding, the realization social media is the future and how to capitalize upon it.
The workshop weekend began with a welcome dinner for our panelists. Houston Tex-Mex favorite Armandos catered and the ever-talented Becki Griffin of Curious Details collaborated with us on the table decor. We mixed old and new (our favorite) to create a stunning table that set the tone for the weekend. Still dreaming of those florals!
We sat around the table, long after we devoured our fajitas; talking, laughing, sharing, excitedly anticipating the workshop. It was so many dreams all wrapped up in one. Smoot and I still catch each other’s glance and smile so big it hurts, that this is our reality. And that, right there, is why we do our workshops, we want everyone to have that feeling.
For those of you that are interested in future workshops, here is a little breakdown of how this one went:
Guests arrived at 9 am, greeted by mimosas, fresh baked goodies and plenty of time to mingle. We provide this time for attendees to meet one another in hopes that collaborations, partnerships, and/or friendships can be formed.
We began the panel discussion at 9:45. Smoot and I moderated and we began by sharing our story. How we got here, where we want to go and what business tips have helped us along the way. Then we brought up the featured panelists, this time they were Anissa Zajac of @housesevendesign and Maria Lichty of @twopeasandpod. We asked them all the questions you wish you could! How they got their start, how they sustain their businesses, what is coming up next and everything in between.
We broke for lunch, provided by The Garden Co., it was the perfect respite. It gave everyone a time to chat and get to know the panelists.
Then, the two break-out sessions began. Kadie led a branding workshop and Ashleigh walked everyone through photography for social media. The swag bags were the subject of choice and it allowed the attendees to perfect their flat-lay techniques with an expert nearby for questions and guidance. The results were awesome!
A huge thank you to our amazing swag bag sponsors:
We are currently taking submissions for swag bag sponsors for our next workshop, so drop us an email if you are interested or know someone that may be!
