LIVING WITH INTENTION

“Our Intention creates our reality” - Wayne Dryer
More than a mantra or a slogan on our tee shirts, Living With Intention, for us, is the only way. It’s taken us places we only dreamed of before. In fact, if it weren’t for that mindset of setting our intentions in motion, The Vintage Round Top simply wouldn’t be.
It all started with our desire to do something creative together and to have a weekend place in the country so we and out kids could experience the feeling of a simpler time.
A chance conversation with Bud Royer on the porch of Royers Cafe almost eight years ago gave us the inspiration to Live With Intention. If you know Bud, you can imagine how that conversation went. But, that’s for another story.
Not too long after talking with Bud, another person came into our lives and made a monumental difference. Frank Hilbolt, a Round Top realtor was selling an old farmhouse and we decided go look at it to get the “mojo” going. We wanted to feel what it would be like if we had a country house, even though we were in no position to make a move at that time. We thought it’d take a year or two before we’d even be able to think about buying a second home, but wanted to set that intention in motion.
Frank educated us on the need for lodging in the area, mainly during the antique shows that brings between 50-100,000 visitors to tiny Round Top (population 90) twice per year. But, also shared the town was poised to have a huge grow spurt and turn into a year round travel destination.
Right around that same time, The Junk Gypsies had an incredible break to be on HGTV. They skyrocketed and brought a tremendous amount of interest and attention to the town. They have been kicking butt ever sense and have done so much for the community. We’re grateful to them for all the good they’ve brought to this town.
So, by first establishing what we really wanted and were passionate about, and staying open to possibilities, it set the course for all the twists and turns that have helped build our story. Had we not “lived with intention” by stopping at that first house, even when it was against all odds, none of these truly magical things would have happened to us as a result.
One of the best things that’s happened through The Vintage Round Top is the opportunity to share our story and to host expert panelists at our Business, Branding and Social Media Workshop. It’s allowed us to pass on what we’ve learned to newcomers in their own businesses. Today, we’re sharing one our simple worksheets to help determine and set your intentions and dreams.

Our hope is what was shared with us initially from Bud will be passed on to as many people as possible. And, that this philosophy will help others follow and achieve their own dreams and goals.
We’ll be talking a lot more about Living With Intention throughout this month. If this mantra touches you, we’ve designed comfy tees and handmade flags that are available to purchase in our shop - just click the images below to make them your own!
