What an enormous honor it is to see our No. 1450 daybed lounge area on the cover of this gorgeous magazine. We’ve been blessed with great press features throughout the years, however this is our first cover - eek!!

We’re extremely proud and also thrilled for our sweet and talented friend/photographer, Haylei Smith. She initially shot The Vintage Round Top for her senior project at art school six years ago and has been working with us ever since. We love having been a part of her growth and she a part of ours.

Origin Magazine promotes female entrepreneurs and provides inspiration in design, food, travel, wellness art, beauty and the list goes on. It ‘s a platform for Art, Culture, Conscious Lifestyle, Humanitarianism, Sustainability and Yoga. They are creating a cohesive and connected Art+Conscious Community that Collaborates + Creates, builds bridges, breaks barriers and channels transformation, connection, vision, intention and creation.

Both Smoot and I connect with so many aspects of their mission, so were absolutely thrilled when we received an Instagram DM from them about the feature. It still amazes me how effective social media can be in connecting with like minds and potential collaborators.

It’s funny to think that this little corner in our No. 1450 cottage almost didn’t exist and was literally a last minute design decision. That area had been an outdoor patio — we tore down the wall, added a row of windows and built the daybed/ lounge for extra seating and sleeping. It’s one of our favorite spaces on the property and are so thankful for all the opportunities it’s brought to us. Not to mention all the wonderful guests we’ve hosted that have used it to kick back and relax.

I keep thinking had we not stopped to live wIth intention in that farmhouse so long ago, we would not be experiencing all of the fruits of chasing our passions. We’re beyond thankful to God, to all of the amazing people we’ve met and interacted along the way and to our teams that have helped us along the way!
