Attracting both world-class designers and local antique lovers, there’s something for everyone in the fields. It’s a marathon of sorts -- walking miles in the fields, hunting for treasures, deliberating purchases, hauling your finds -- certainly not for the faint of heart!

Vintage is in my blood and brings me so much joy! It provides soul, stories and uniqueness that I crave to the spaces I create, live and work in.

It’s no secret that Smoot and I love designing with white paint. While white can seem like a no-brainer, there are actually hundreds of paint shades available--each with its own subtle variation in undertone. Now that we’ve completed four cottages with white interior paint, we want to share a few of the things we’ve learned along the way. Read on to learn our tips for choosing the perfect white for your space!

We wanted to give our family a weekend retreat to enjoy the slower pace and simpler pleasures of country living, and we wanted to embark on a project that would allow us to fully stretch our creative muscles.

I was blessed to grow up in a home that celebrated Christmas with lots of traditions. Some of those I carried on with our own family — buying and decorating our tree on Thanksgiving weekend, Christmas Eve Candlelight church services and tamales for dinner, opening one present the night before Christmas (my favorite when I was a kid).

Growing up with a Swedish heritage, I’ve always been drawn to the beauty of natural, simple and understated decor. When it comes to the holidays, there seems to be even more of an opportunity to achieve this with forged and handmade items being the base of your styling.

Our Mother's Day traditions are simple, but so dear to my heart. Smoot and our children always prepare a special breakfast in bed before we head off to church. Then we enjoy brunch together and spend time as a family for the rest of the afternoon. Days like Mother's Day remind me of how blessed I am and how much I cherish our time together.
