BOHO COLLABORATION: MARS CULTURE
Paige Hull
We’re excited to talk about a very important Boho collaborator on the blog today. Boho would not be what it is without our rockstar architects, MARS Culture. We had such a wonderful experience working with MARS Culture Studio Principals Kelie Mayfield and Erick Ragni. We chose to work with them because of their previous projects and reputable background.
We met with Kelie and Erick and immediately loved their style and process. Since we were building off of the garage of No. 1450, we worked with them for space planning, and they really used every nook and cranny available in the structure of the existing home. They also did a fabulous job in creating a cohesive exterior so that it doesn’t look like two separate homes or an add-on.
Kelie and Erick’s studio has been recognized with many awards in the past, and we were thrilled about their recent recognition in the 2017 Houston PaperCity Awards. MARS, along with The Vintage Round Top, received runner-up in the “Hospitality Interior Design or Architectural Design: Hotel, Restaurant or Club” category for the design of the Boho Cottage! We are grateful to be recognized by such renowned judges in their fields: designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard, architect Peter Pennoyer, designer Katie Ridder, and designer Mark D. Sikes.
We also talked a bit about our collaboration in Cosy Interiors: Slow Living Inspirations so be sure to snag yourself a copy for plenty more inspiration!
