natural beauty

I’ve always been drawn to natural elements to use in décor and am sharing ways I’ve used them in the past at The Vintage Round Top. In 2016, I wrote a blog post about this topic and in the heart of reflecting on our last 10 years, here are my current takeaways for the future.

Using pieces from the natural world into my spaces creates a more calming, unique and lived in look. As my family knows, anytime I see an interesting flower, branch, or fallen wasp nests I immediately grab it to add my collection (sorry fam!), then find a way to incorporate it into our home. The bee hive chandelier in our No. 1450 cottage entry is one of my most fav examples.

I’ve shared lots of inspiration below from ways I’ve used these elements throughout The Vintage Round Top along with ideas of how to incorporate the beauty mother earth offers into your own home.

Snipping a few live branches from your yard is the easiest way to brighten and bring fragrance to a room while keeping an airy look.

I hope you enjoyed this inspiration! Don’t forget - we can be your home away from home or backdrop for an event, retreat, photo shoot and more. Just give us a call at 713-859-5993 or email us at info@thevintageroundtop.com.

When designing a more masculine or feminine room, you can incorporate these elements to bring them more life. The Pierce and Eisley cottages are specific to our children’s aesthetics which happen to be more feminine and masculine themselves. A French grape vine was used to add edge in the Pierce, while in the Eisley the pink tones of the sea fan softens the space while adding a unique touch.

The images in this collage represent multiple ways to incorporate natural elements into different types of living spaces. Smaller dainty flowers can soften harsher pieces, while more unique colorful flowers can create an edgier, architectural feel in more minimalistic areas like the Boho master bathroom.

Using statement pieces like the Juju hat wall hanging in the Boho master adds interesting texture while keeping the space open.

Decorating smaller outside spaces can be tricky but there’s no better space to bring in and display those elements while you’re outside.

Pieces of bark or other interesting natural finds of nature can become serving stands or platters. Incorporate them with succulents or flower centerpieces. It’s sure to be a conversation starter.
