ANTIQUE SNUFF CANDLE
Paige Hull
One of the main things we look for in a Modern Vintage Style piece is the story behind it. We love to gather pieces with a heritage that can be repurposed into something new, while still maintaining the historical integrity. These sage-scented Antique Snuff Candles are the perfect example. These jars could have been discarded as trash, but instead we used them as a charming vessel for these sweet-smelling candles.
As you can see from the lid, the history behind these jars goes back all the way to 1782! At the end of the Revolutionary War, a man named John Garrett II built a snuff mill in Delaware. Around 1900, the business was renamed American Snuff Company. Snuff is one of the oldest products ever produced on American soil and this companies heritage dates back to one of the oldest trademarks still in use. Even though we are not a snuff fan, the history is interesting nonetheless.
These sage scented candles will not only fill your room with a fresh and warm ambiance, but also with a sense of American history and heritage. This is the perfect fusion of modern vintage style. Purchase this Antique Snuff Candle here.
