All About Our Girly Yet Edgy Eisley Cottage
Paige Hull
Welcome to the Eisley Cottage!
The Eisley Cottage is one of the two Cozy Cottages we added to our property about a year ago. This cottage is named after our sweet and youngest daughter, Eisley. Our kids have been a part of this journey since the beginning, so we wanted to create spaces that reflected who they are. Not to mention, they love getting to stay in their very own space when we take a weekend trip to Round Top.
Eisley has always been unique. Not only is the name “Eisley” super rare, but she has never fit into a traditional mold. She’s girly, but not a girly-girl. She’s feminine, but she has an edge. She’s not a follower and she is always 100% true to herself. And this was exactly our inspiration for the Eisley Cottage.
The space is perfectly girly yet edgy. It is filled with soft pinks and bright whites that are paired with dark metals and unfinished wood. There are pink furry pillows on the daybed while there is a literal “rough around the edges” vintage find displayed above the bed.
An underlying inspiration for the Eisley Cottage is a French circus. Over the years, we’ve been blessed to be able to travel to Europe with the kids. We’ve taken them to flea markets and vintage shops all over Europe and one of our favorite things are the European circuses. So, we let these funky circuses drive some of the design elements in the cottage. You’ll specifically see this in the headboard, chandelier in the kitchenette, the hats on the wall, the sea fans above the daybed, and the collection of mirrors on the wall.
One of the best things about building these cottages is that we had the privilege of partnering with some incredible creatives. For the Eisley Cottage, we partnered with Ann Sacks for the bathroom tile and Kohler for the bathroom fixtures and hardware. Becky Griffin, of Curious Details, designed the mirror wall along with helping with a few other finishing details. And, last but definitely not least, the gorgeous door that leads into the bathroom was found at The Belgian’s Antiques, a local dealer of European antiques.
It was so much fun building and designing the Eisley Cottage and we believe the Cozy Cottages have only made The Vintage Round Top that much better since its added ample space for groups and retreats. We hope you get to experience it for yourself sometime soon!
