MODERN VINTAGE STYLE - VINTAGE STYLE MAGAZINE
Paige Hull
We recently received a surprise in the mail in the form of a feature in the Winter edition of Vintage Style magazine! As you can see from fewer wrinkles on our faces and how itty bitty our kids look in these photos, this project actually began several years ago. When we first did the shoot, the feature was meant for a design book. Through an interesting turn of events, it turned into a feature in Vintage Style, and we were thrilled when we opened the envelope to see a note and the magazine.
During the shoot, we had the opportunity to spend the day with accomplished editor and stylist Fifi O'Neill and her sister. These ladies are beyond talented and it was so fun to see them at work in our home. We also had the chance to work with the talented Mark Lohman, who photographs most of FiFi's projects. The Vintage Round Top is very versatile in how it can be photographed, so it's always interesting to see each stylist and photographer's portrayal.
Several years after the shoot, we were contacted by writer Jan Soults Walker about an interview for the article. Two days after our house flooded, I sat in my car and did the interview as our water-logged home was being dried out. It was a crazy time and I will never forget that moment. If this year has taught us anything, it's that the show must go on. Despite the hardships we've faced this year, we've still been blessed with great opportunities and we're so grateful for the ability to keep going.
It was a fun and interesting road, and we absolutely love how the article and photographs turned out! This shoot holds such sweet memories for our entire family.
We always jump at the chance to work with talents like Fifi, Mark, and Jan. We're so humbled and grateful for this opportunity, and we hope you'll check out the magazine on news stands now! Below we've shared some fun behind the scenes photographs from the shoot.
